ABOUT

MTB Leadership is a sister company of Exmoor Adventures Ltd, specialising in the delivery of British Cycling Mountain Bike Leadership courses.

Dan French was originally an MBLA tutor, who moved over to delivering the British Cycling award in 2014.

Dan found his passion for mountain biking when he was a teenager growing up on Exmoor, and has biked extensively across the UK and Europe.

As well as mountain biking, Dan is a keen kayaker, surfer, and anything else active and adventurous!

Most of our level 2 leadership courses take place from the scenic location of Porlock on Exmoor, where there is a huge network of local MTB trails, lending themselves perfectly for the delivery of these courses.

We also deliver level 2 courses on the Quantock hills, Dartmoor and the Mendips.

For activity centres interested in the level 1 course, we can help set you up as an accredited centre, and we also hope to be delivering level 3 courses in the future.

Join us for this introduction to Night Riding, and experience the thrill of riding through the dark of night!

Ideally, you’ll have off road mountain biking experience, your own bike, and a set of decent lights, but we can hire bikes and lights!

This 1 day activity is perfect for riders who have daytime MTB experience, wanting to make the transition to riding in the dark.

We will meet near Corfe Castle, then head out for a 15-20km ride, taking in some of the rolling hills and trails of the Purbeck Hills. A moderate level of fitness is required, and we’ll be using fun, but less technical trails.

We will show you all the fundamentals of night riding, giving you the confidence to get out on your own adventures!

    Course content:

    – Different types of lights
    – Core MTB techniques
    – Safety at night
    – Equipment to carry
    – Night riding techniques
    – Having an awesome time on the trails!

We’ll finish with a pint in a pub, and a bite to eat for those who wish!

Your instructor is a British Cycling Mountain Bike Leadership Tutor, training and assessing riders to become MTB guides, as well as running Exmoor Adventures, an activity company in the South West, with over 20 years Mountain Biking experience.

Working on a maximum 1:8 ratio.

    Cost – £60pp.
